BCA managing director to retire

Date: 22 October 2012   |   Author: Rachel Burgess

BCA managing director Andrew Hulme will be retiring from his role at the end of the year and will be replaced by former Inchcape chief executive Spencer Lock.

Hulme, who has been with the company for 45 years, will remain as non-executive director for 2013 to complete certain projects and will also stay as chairman of the National Association of Motor Auctions until spring next year.

Lock will take the helm from 1 January 2013, but is joining the business in November to complete an induction programme.

He worked in a number of management roles for both Ford and Nissan before joining Inchcape in 1998 and progressing to chief executive in 2007.

In 2009, he was appointed to the same position for Inchcape Australia, a role he served until earlier this year.

Lock said: "I am delighted to be joining BCA, the market leader across the UK and European remarketing sectors.

"I hope that my previous automotive experience in retail, distribution and also the leasing segment will help me to understand the needs of our customers.

"I look forward to leading the UK management team as the company continues to innovate in terms of product development, service offering and online capabilities."
